Mexico City, March 4, 2025 – Mayakoba celebrates an unprecedented achievement by being recognized with the Declaration of Mark Notoriety (Well-Known Mark) by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI). This recognition, granted to Mayakoba, distinguishes it as the first brand of a hotel complex in Mexico to receive this distinction, reaffirming its position as a benchmark of excellence in luxury tourism.

The Well-Known Mark recognition, granted by IMPI during a symbolic event held at the central offices of the Ministry of Economy (the first of its kind), is a testament to Mayakoba’s constant commitment to creating exceptional experiences, sustainability, innovation, and world-class service. This achievement not only enhances Mayakoba’s recognition among international travelers but also projects Mexico as a world-class destination capable of competing and excelling in the demanding luxury and ultra-luxury tourism market.

Additionally, during the event, IMPI recognized other outstanding brands as ‘Well-Known Marks’ (Marcas Notorias) and ‘Famous Marks’ (Marcas Famosas), reaffirming its commitment to strengthening and protecting the intangible assets of industrial property in Mexico.

“We are very honored to receive this recognition from IMPI, and especially proud to be the first brand of a hotel complex in Mexico to achieve it,” expressed Luis Durán, CEO of RLH Properties. “This achievement is the result of the hard work and passion of the entire Mayakoba team, who are dedicated to exceeding our guests’ expectations. This recognition drives us to continue raising the standards of luxury hospitality and to remain an emblematic destination.”

Santiago Nieto, Director General of IMPI, highlighted the importance of “promoting well-known and famous marks so that they continue to protect their intangible assets, strengthen their value, and stand out in the global market—achievements that favorably impact the economic development of our country.”

The recognition of Mayakoba as a Well-Known Mark translates into tangible benefits for the hotels operating within its property, strengthening their market position. Specifically, the hotels benefit from competitive differentiation that consolidates them as leaders in the region, an increase in brand value, greater visibility through global promotion strategies, and reinforced legal protection that safeguards the integrity and prestige of the mark. For the guest, this recognition guarantees an exceptional experience backed by the reputation and prestige of Mayakoba.

RLH Properties thanks IMPI for this recognition and reaffirms its commitment to remaining a Mexican benchmark of excellence in the hospitality industry, offering unforgettable experiences and exceptional service both in Mayakoba and in the other destinations where it operates.
