Mayakoba will host the new Mayakoba Open from May 22 to 25 as part of the 2025 LPGA Tour schedule. This event marks the return of the LPGA Tour to Mexico after eight years, just in time for the Tour’s 75th anniversary.

The El Camaleón golf course, designed by Greg Norman, will be the venue for the event. This course has previously hosted the PGA Tour, LIV Golf, and the Latin America Amateur Championship.

“Mayakoba and El Camaleón have a long history as pioneers in the growth of golf in Mexico, from our 16-year partnership with the PGA TOUR to organizing the first Latin American tournament and welcoming LIV Golf to our destination,” said Luis Durán, CEO of Mayakoba’s owning group, RLH Properties. “It is an exciting time for women’s sports and a historic year for the LPGA Tour, and we are proud to be part of this extraordinary growth trajectory and to continue supporting the game in new and innovative ways at Mayakoba.”

The resort in Playa del Carmen has long been a favorite among players, offering a variety of activities beyond golf, and they can often be seen riding bicycles around the property when they are not playing. This Riviera Maya community sits right on the ocean, with dense mangroves and canals to explore.

The event will feature a $2.5 million dollar prize purse and will be played as the lead-up tournament to the US Women’s Open.
